The parish Music Ministry is under the direction of Michael Chladil, Director of Music and Organist at St. Joseph’s since July of 2010. He oversees the liturgical music for all of the Parish liturgies. The Director of Music, through his liturgical music training and planning skills, ensures that the liturgical norms and practices set forth by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and the Archdiocese of Newark of full, active, and conscious participation by the faithful are being promoted and adhered to.

St. Joseph Adult Choir
The choir offers variety and a special dimension to liturgical worship. Through ongoing training and practice, members lend their talents and efforts at weekend Masses from September through June. The choir is composed of very dedicated and talented volunteers from within the parish. Many tithe their time and talent not only in the choir, but to other church ministries as well. The choir is always looking to add new members.

The St. Joseph’s Adult Choir rehearses weekly, September through June, on Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm in the Church, and assists the congregation in sung prayer at the 10:00am Mass, as well as for various special liturgies and feasts throughout the church year. The choir is open to those of high school age or older. If you are interested in sharing your time and talent within the choir, please speak directly with Michael Chladil.

Other Opportunities
There are additional opportunities to contribute to the liturgical life of the parish through music. During the school year, the Confirmation Candidates, along with their parents and catechists, celebrate Mass as a group each month. The music for this Mass includes a contemporary dimension. Interested singers and instrumentalists are invited to participate.
