Welcome to Advent
Today we begin the new Church year with the beginning of Advent. We begin by preparing for the coming of the Lord at Christmas. The Lord always desires to be a greater part of our lives. Advent is about the preparing of our lives for his coming to us anew. We have several ways in which to prepare this Advent.
We are continuing the Online Advent Retreat that we started last year. Each morning there will be a post that will serve as a guide for your prayer and reflection that day. Based on the Scriptures of that day’s Mass or feast it will help prepare you for some quiet time in prayer with the Lord. There is the option of leaving comments to share with others if you wish. It is often in that online discussion that people find a further insights that help them.
Our first Advent Parish Reconciliation Service is Tuesday, December 1st at 7:30 in the church. There will be a brief Prayer Service followed by the opportunity for individual reconciliation. There will be another service on December 15th. Please plan on coming to celebrate the Lord’s mercy and love.
We welcome Fr. Joseph O’Brien, O. Carm, as the celebrant of our 10:00 Mass this Sunday. As part of the parish’s centennial we are inviting former pastors back to be with us. Welcome back Fr. Joe.
