First Night – Unity and Synodality
During the first night of the Parish Mission, Bishop Michael Saporito reflected on what we can learn about unity from the early Church. He introduced the concept of synodality and how it can lead to a “Shared Parish” model and also shared the six steps of intercultural sensitivity as a framework for reflecting on our unity as a parish.
Bishop Saporito provided a copy of his talked translated into Spanish.
Second Night – Discipleship
During the second night of the Parish Mission, Bishop Michael Saporito talked about discipleship. Have we made a decision to believe in Jesus and follow him? Bishop Saporito gave us five characteristics of discipleship and asked us to consider how we think about “church” and whether it is a museum or a place where disciples gather.
