Overview

We are looking to start a Social Concerns Committee here at St. Joseph’s. The Social Concerns Committee will follow Jesus’ call to reach out to our brothers and sisters in need through prayer, advocacy, stewardship, service, and collaboration. We will be guided by the Catholic principles of social justice.

The Social Concerns Committee will:

  • Be dedicated to all in need within our parish, our community, and the world, including those challenged by poverty, homelessness, disability, and injustice.
  • Be an ongoing, caring ministry that coordinates volunteer efforts for needs that arise in our community. The ministry will serve all who require assistance.
  • Serve our Parish by providing us with opportunities to serve others.
  • Help others in need by organizing donation drives and other volunteer opportunities benefiting less fortunate neighbors within and outside the parish.

If anyone is interested in joining the Social Concerns Committee, please call Fr. Scott at the Rectory or e-mail Fr. Scott at frscott@stjosephbogota.org
