Do Not Be Afraid
Our Heavenly Father consistently tells us to not be afraid. In fact, this particular line is repeated 365 times in the Bible. That’s a “fear not” for every day of the year! Why? As it says in the Psalm, God is always with us. No matter where we go or what we’re experiencing, the Lord is there by our side at all times. Saint John Paul II often reminded us to not be afraid by saying, “I plead with you- never give up on hope, never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged. Be not afraid.” This beautiful quote helps us to reflect on this passage, and see w hat our Lord is trying to tell us today.
How many times do you feel afraid? It doesn’t have to be quite like a phobia of something such as spiders or tight places. It could mean that you’re anxious about a decision, worried about missing a meeting, or afraid that you won’t fit in. These are the moments of fear that we are faced with constantly throughout life. That’s why God reminds us every single day to not to be afraid because He is always with us. He knows that we frequently have difficulties and He wants to help us through them.
Today’s Tip: If you find a moment today where you are afraid, call upon God. Say a quick prayer, “Lord, I know you are with me. Strengthen me to get through this moment.” The Lord is at your side through every step of the way. Let Him take you by the hand and walk with you on this journey of life.
